Thank you for reaching out to Guardian Pit Bull Rescue. It is our goal to help advocate, educate, and rescue Pit Bulls in our area as well as be a resource for Pit Bull owners in the Greater Houston and surrounding areas. Due to the overwhelming need for help that this breed is in need of, the size of our group, and limits of our resources, it is our policy to not take in strays or owner surrenders. Nearly all dogs in our program are from a shelter system which provides them no chance at life.
If you have a dog that needs to be surrendered or have found a stray we would refer you to either B.A.R.C or Montgomery County Animal Shelter, depending on your location. Both of these facilities are as Pit Bull friendly as you will find in the area and do not discriminate based on breed. They both also adopt Pit Bulls to the public and work with our organization to help evaluate dogs that are good candidates for rescue. It is our goal to help dogs stay in their home and we encourage owners to attend our Ambassador Training Program which will help with any behavioral issues you may be encountering. Dogs are family and we want to make sure they stay that way. Please let us know how we can help you and a member of our team will contact you as soon as we are available.
